...Cheyenne High School – home of the desert shields!...

The first thought that appeared in my mind was - this is enormously huge building with no windows - “It looks like prison!” Surrounded by 2 meter high fence the building was full of officers. During the school hours the gates of school were locked so nobody could get in or out without permission. You even needed a pass to go to the bathroom. No being late, or improperly dressed……

But it wasn’t that bad. In fact, it was great. I made lots of friends, learned new stuff and enjoyed. I finally found the shortest way to all of my classrooms, and did threw away my school map. I did have problems with my locker, so I “moved” to my best friend’s one.

I did had a strong Slavic accent, but people enjoyed talking with me. My teacher even offered to try myself as a host at coming assembly. It was so cool!!! That was the first lesson of confidence and self-esteem.

And I finally took the course that I always wanted to take – Architecture.
